Rascal Flatts have a lot on their plate in the forseeable future. In addition to the new album and a clothing line, the trio are reportedly working on a documentary, restaurants and a fragrance. They began work on the documentary on Sunday (January 29th). Jay DeMarcustweeted about the project, writing, "Back at work bright and early to start filming the Rascal Flatts "movie"... Think y'all are gonna dig it...."
Later he added, "More details to come soon on the Flatts movie.. Def more of a performance/doc style with more of our individual stories intertwined..."
As far as the restaurants and fragrance go, Gary LeVox gave a few details during a recent radio interview, saying, "We started working on a fragrance about two years ago, and we went through a couple different companies. We just couldn't lock down on a scent that the three of us had liked. We're actually in the process right now of putting it together. We've got some restaurants that we're getting ready to open, so we've got a lot of stuff going on. But the scent of Gary LeVox will be out soon (laughs)."
Gary compares the chain of restaurants to Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill. The trio is working with the chef behind Mastro's Steakhouse, and they will break ground on their first restaurant in Gary and Jay's homestate of Ohio neary Ohio State University in Columbus.
Rascal Flatts continue on their Thaw Out 2012 tour on February 9th in Jacksonville, Florida.
Their new album, Changed, will be released on April 3rd.
Luke Bryan holds on to the Number One spot on the Mediabase/Country Aircheck chart for a second week with "I Don't Want This Night to End." Not only does Luke love the story of the song that he co-wrote, but he also appreciates the unique melody, which pushed the bounds of a typcial country track.
Luke tells us: "I love the melody of (hums), I mean, all that melody is just really kind of cool there. A buddy of mine kind of said it best. He said, 'Luke, it sounds, you know, a track, it's like The Cure or something.' It's probably the furthest I've went from a country-sounding track ever. It's really not a country track. But then you got my old country voice on it and that'll simmer down the most craziest of tracks. So it's fun to have that kind of music behind it."
"I Don't Want This Night to End" is the latest single from Luke's gold-certified album, Tailgates & Tanlines.
Luke continues on the My Kinda Party 2012 tour with headliner Jason Aldean. Their next stop is on Thursday (February 2nd) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Luke will headline a free concert at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas on March 30th.
The concert leads up to the ACM Awards which will also be held in Las Vegas on April 1st.
The Band Perry like to keep fans on their toes with a mixture of their own hits and some of their favorite cover songs. When they toured Canada with Keith Urban last year they performed Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" every night with Keith because they wanted to give concert-goers something they wouldn't expect.
Another cover song that often surprises their fans is Queen's "Fat Bottom Girls." Kimberly Perry tells us:"'Fat Bottom Girls' is always a tip of the hat to both our dad, Steve, and our mother, Marie. He's the rock-n-roll lover and that's one of his favorite rock songs. Mom is the country fan so we always throw a little bit of a bluegrass jam at the end of it sort of the tip of the hat to our parents and where we've come from musically. I'm absolutely in love with Queen. Freddie Mercury is, hands down, probably my favorite entertainer of all time. And so, I try to live a little vicariously through the song."
The Band Perry are currently on the road with Brad Paisley and his Virtual Reality World tour. Their next show is on February 9th in Spokane, Washington.
The sibling trio is closing in on the top spot with their current Top Five hit, "All Your Life."
The Band Perry are up for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards on February 12th. They face competition in the category from Bon Iver, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj, and Skrillex.
Miranda Lambert will likely be drawing on her recent sorrow over the deaths of her father-in-law and her childhood friend to shoot the video for her latest single, "Over You." The singer was on set yesterday (Monday, January 30th) to shoot the clip for the song, which is about Blake Shelton's brother who was killed in a car accident when Blake was a teenager. Miranda on what's not-so-hot about Blake: "When he's at home, he wears camo, and sometimes the same camo over and over again without washing it."
Miranda on the meaningful things Blake does: "Well, one time when I was sick, he went into town and brought me some flowers and chicken noodle soup and crackers. I'll never forget it. On Valentine's Day, he'll take me out on the boat and we'll just relax and have fun together. That's much more our thing."
Miranda on the word that best describes Blake: "I would say personality. He lights up a room. Seriously, he is the life of every party he goes to."
Miranda continues on her On Fire tour on Thursday (February 2nd) in Huntsville, Alabama with Chris Young and Jerrod Niemann.
She postponed her scheduled show on Friday (February 3rd) in Tallahassee to attend the funeral of her childhood friend who was recently killed in a freak car accident.

She is working closely with Holy Trinity Montessori school head Kate Riley to build the 6,000-square-foot school for students up through third grade, and possibly up to fifth, offering them an affordable, hands-on education.
Jo Dee said, "This isn't about just a cause I believe in or the latest celebrity charity. I want this campaign to show that even in a time when people feel there is little hope, that there IS hope and dreams still DO come true. I chose it because we need people from all over to carry us with their support to make this dream come true."
Jo Dee and her husband, Chris Deffenbaugh, recently welcomed their second son, Jonah, who joins three-year-old big brother, Noah.
The school, founded in 2009, currently has 25 students enrolled, with another 45 on the waiting list. The new schoolhouse will accommodate up to 125 children.

MORE DETAILS ON THE CUSTODY BATTLE BETWEEN HALLE BERRY AND GABRIEL AUBRY
Reports say that the L.A. Department of Children and Family Services has recommended thatHalle Berry and Gabriel Aubry take parenting classes -- and to enroll their daughter into counseling. As previously reported, the two are back in court after Nahla's nanny filed a police report claiming that Aubry pushed the nanny while she was holding the child. Halle is trying to strip Aubry of his visitation rights.
According to TMZ.com, sources say that social workers recommended that Nahla be taken to counseling and RadarOnline.com has reported that DCFS has written an extensive report that recommend that no changes in custody be made, but that Halle and Gabriel attend parenting classes together, so that they could co-parent their child.
TMZ.com also reported that Gabriel is seeking a restraining order and asking the judge to fire the nanny because he believes she is making up stories for Halle.

MATTHEW BRODERICK RESURRECTS FERRIS BUELLER FOR SUPER BOWL COMMERCIAL
Matthew Broderick has resurrected one of his classic characters, Ferris Bueller, for the Super Bowl. 26 years after the hit movie debuted, Broderick revisited the premise in a new Honda commercial that will air on Sunday (February 5th).
Instead of feigning illness to skip school, Broderick said he was sick to avoid filming the Honda commercial.
The 49-year-old recreated scenes from the film -- like singing on a float and leaving his vehicle with an untrustworthy valet -- and repeated classic lines, including the ultimate: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you'll miss it."
DEMI MOORE REPORTEDLY RECEIVING 'SPIRITUAL COUNSELING'
Demi Moore is reportedly receiving "spiritual counseling" in the wake of her recent hospitalization. Although her exact whereabouts are unknown, sources told E! that the 49-year-old actress is getting some form of help.
However, the E! insiders say that reports of Moore having entered a residential treatment program are untrue. As of Sunday, she had not resurfaced at her Beverly Hills home either.

The magazine reported that the 23-year-old snuck into the official after party for the Screen Actors' Guild Awards. A witness said that Rumer was "keeping a crazy low profile," adding, "She definitely didn't want anyone to see her."
Charlie Sheen decided to use the surname "Sheen" professionally -- even though his dad Martin encouraged him not to. Martin told us that when he was breaking into the business, he went by Sheen instead of Estevez because there was a prejudice about Hispanic-sounding names.
He explained Charlie's decision saying, [When the kids started to come into the business I advised them to keep their name because so much had changed since I was a boy. And one of the big regrets that my father had was that I changed my name professionally. And so I tried to encourage them and Emilio got that message and he kept his name and he's very happy that he did. And Charlie decided to go with Sheen and his motivation was to keep my name going, that he didn't want to be separated in the profession from me. And so I was honored equally by him choosing to do that."
Martin appears on the season premiere of NBC's Who Do You Think You Are?, which explores celebrity ancestry. During the episode, which airs on February 3rd, Martin discovers his roots in Ireland and Spain.
GEORGE CLOONEY THINKS RELEASING DEMI MOORE'S 911 CALL WAS 'STUPID'
George Clooney has strong feeling about Demi Moore's recent hospitalization -- and how the situation has played out in public. He told The Insider on Sunday night that he doesn't think the 911 call made from the actress's home should have been released.
He explained, "I think it's a stupid thing. I think it's stupid for anyone, whether they're celebrated or not, I don't believe their 911 call should be broadcast around the world, but that's my opinion. What's happening and what people have to remember is that people are getting famous from Facebook and Twitter, so it's not just about people here, it's about everybody. There won't be any version of privacy. So it's going to be a tricky thing."
As for Demi herself? Clooney said, "It's always troubling when people you know and people who you care about end up going through a difficult time."

Brandi, who is featured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, recently told Bravo host Andy Cohen that she had Butler had a week-long fling last summer.
However, when asked about the tryst, Butler responded, "Who's Brandi Glanville?"
Glanville addressed the diss on Twitter, writing, "I don't lie so he can suck it . . . I'm telling the truth that is all I will say." She also tweeted Cohen to say, "I think we need to get GB on with u to play plead the 5th!! Get to the truth."
She also stood her ground in a conversation with RumorFix.com, telling the site, "He called me last night and told me he said it. He is upset because he is a private person. I don't lie, so I don't really care."
POLLS POINT TOWARD ROMNEY WIN IN TODAY'S FLORIDA PRIMARY: The polls are pointing toward Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney being the big favorite to win today's (January 31st) Florida primary, as he seeks to regain momentum towards the nomination and frontrunner buzz after an upset loss to Newt Gingrich in South Carolina 10 days earlier. An upbeat Romney told a crowd of several hundred in Dunedin yesterday, "With a turnout like this, I'm beginning to feel we might win tomorrow," while Gingrich said in a TV interview that whatever today's results, he's not going anywhere: "He can bury me for a very short amount of time with four or five or six times as much money. In the long run, the Republican Party is not going to nominate . . . a liberal Republican." The other two candidates in the GOP race, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul, have ceded Florida's primary to Romney and Gingrich, and will spend the day campaigning in Colorado and Nevada.
ILLINOIS NUCLEAR REACTOR SHUTDOWN BEING INVESTIGATED: Officials are investigating the events surrounding a power failure Monday morning (January 30th) at a nuclear reactor in Illinois, where steam was vented to reduce pressure. Exelon Nuclear's Byron Generating Station began releasing steam to cool the reactor from the part of the plant where turbines are producing electricity, not from within the nuclear reactor itself. Although the steam contains low levels of tritium, a radioactive form of hydrogen, federal and plant officials insisted the levels were safe for workers and the public. Exelon Nuclear believes a failed piece of equipment at a plant switchyard caused the shutdown, but they were still looking for an exact cause. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission declared the incident an "unusual event," the lowest of four levels of emergency.
BIDEN ADVISED AGAINST BIN LADEN RAID:Vice President Joe Biden admitted this weekend that he'd advised President Obama against launching the mission in which Osama bin Laden was killed last May, ABC News reported Monday (January 30th). Speaking at a Democratic congressional retreat this past weekend, Biden said that he'd had lingering uncertainties about whether bin Laden was at the compound in Pakistan. He said that when Obama asked his top advisers for their final opinion on the mission, all of them were hesitant, except for current Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, who was then CIA director. Biden explained, "Everyone else said, 49, 51. He got to me. He said, 'Joe, what do you think?' And I said, 'You know, I didn't know we had so many economists around the table.' I said, 'We owe the man a direct answer. Mr. President, my suggestion is, don't go. We have to do two more things to see if he's there.'" Biden didn't explain what those two more things were. Obama ordered the mission anyway, and Biden stated, "He knew what was at stake, not just the lives of those brave warriors, but literally the presidency."
AFGHAN MAN KILLS WIFE AFTER SHE GIVES BIRTH TO SECOND DAUGHTER: Police in Afghanistan said Monday (January 30th) that a 22-year-old woman was apparently strangled to death by her husband because he was upset that she'd given birth to a second daughter instead of the son he wanted. The man, Sher Mohammad, fled from his home province last week, but police took his mother into custody because she appears to have collaborated in the plot to kill her daughter-in-law. Male babies are traditionally prized much more highly than girls in Afghanistan, because a son will be a breadwinner while a daughter is seen as a drain on the family until she's married off. Although there have been major advances for women in Afghanistan since the U.S.-led ouster of the Taliban 10 years ago, abuse and repression of them is still common, particularly in rural areas.
WHITE HOUSE DENIES FIRST LADY BOUGHT $50K WORTH OF LINGERIE: The White House yesterday (January 30th) shot down a story that had appeared in the British tabloids alleging that First Lady Michelle Obama had bought $50,000 worth of lingerie at the Agent Provocateur luxury lingerie chain. The story, which appeared in The Telegraph and other U.K. tabloids, contended that Obama was with the Queen of Qatar during her shopping spree at the Madison Avenue boutique in New York City, shutting down part of the block. When asked about the story, Obama spokesman Jay Carney flatly denied it, saying, "It's utterly false, and it's irresponsible of an American news organization to repeat the story." A PR ploy is suspected, with the New York Daily News saying, "Many political and business insiders suspect that Agent Provocateur floated the rumor of Obama's shopping spree as a political stunt."
KENNEDY COMPOUND'S MAIN HOUSE DONATED FOR CHARITABLE USE: The main house at the Kennedy family's famous waterfront compound on Cape Cod has been donated for use as an education center aimed at teaching leadership and inspiring public service. The Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate said yesterday (January 30th) that the house was donated at the request of the lateSenator Edward Kennedy and his widow, Victoria, fulfilling a promise Kennedy made to his mother that the house be preserved and used for charitable purposes. A team of national historic preservation experts will guide the programming and operation of the home, which the institute hopes to use to educate the public about the U.S. government and inspire citizens to get involved in public service. The Kennedy family will still have limited use of the Hyannis Port property, and beach access to Kennedy family members who own adjacent properties will remain in effect.
PYTHONS BELIEVED TO BE GOBBLING DOWN EVERGLADES MAMMALS: A growing population of non-native pythons is believed to be wiping out large numbers of mammals in the Everglades, including raccoons, opossums, foxes and bobcats. A study out Monday (January 30th) found that sightings of medium-size mammals are down dramatically in areas where pythons and other large, non-native snakes are known to be living, and scientists are concerned it could disrupt the food chain and upset the Everglades' environmental balance. Tens of thousands of Burmese pythons, which are native to Southeast Asia, are believed to be living in the Everglades. Many of them were pets released by owners when they got too big, while others may have escaped from pet shops during Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and have been reproducing ever since. Florida banned private ownership of Burmese pythons in 2010, and a federal ban on their importation and that of other snakes was announced earlier this month.
GIANTS ARRIVE IN INDIANAPOLIS FOR SUPER BOWL: The New York Giants arrived in Indianapolis on Monday (January 30th), one day after the New England Patriots touched down in the city ahead of next Sunday's Super Bowl. The NFL championship game will be a rematch for the two teams, after the Giants pulled off a stunning 17-14 upset victory over the Pats in 2008 that ruined New England's perfect season.

COLLEGE ACCIDENTALLY SENDS ACCEPTANCE LETTERS: Vassar College in New York sent acceptance letters to 76 applicants who were not gaining admittance to the school. Officials said the acceptance letter went to all 254 of the early decision applicants via the school's admissions website. The school's director of media relations explained, "That was a placeholder that was supposed to be replaced when the site went live by individualized letters. It was a human error working with technology that caused this; we take full responsibility." Within hours of the error, Vassar sent apology and denial letters to the 76 students who received the letter. (New York Times)
STUDENT FINDS COCAINE IN MAIL-ORDER TEXTBOOK: A college junior from Olathe, Kansas said she found a bag of cocaine between the pages of a textbook she ordered from Amazon.com. Sophia Stockton said she took the book and the drugs to the police where they tested and confirmed that the substance was cocaine. She said, "He put some gloves on and put it in a plastic bag. He took it back to test it and like 10 minutes later he came back and said, 'Did you happen to order some cocaine with your textbook?'" Sophia has notified the company and says she will continue to shop with them. She explained, "I have ordered many times from Amazon and this is the first time I've seen anything like this. I don't think that Amazon is at fault in this case. They can't check every book that goes through their warehouse. I'm guessing that it (the cocaine) was just left in there by the previous owner of the book." (Huffington Post)
SHOPLIFTERS ABANDON WHEELCHAIR SCHEME: Two people in Sweden, who were using wheelchairs as part of their shoplifting plan, abandoned the charade when store workers tried to confront them. According to investigators, the two men were using their wheelchairs at a grocery store when workers tried to approach them. The men stood up and ran away, taking one of the wheelchairs with them. Police found a compartment in the abandoned wheelchair that had a carton of coffee packages. (UPI)
MIAMI IS THE HAPPIEST CITY TO WORK IN: Miami is the happiest city in which to work: Employment forum CareerBliss compiles an annual list of the happiest and unhappiest cities for work. Data comes from polling employees about their relationships with their coworkers, opportunities for advancement, compensation, work atmosphere, and other factors that express their general job satisfaction. The 2012 list, based on data from 43,000 respondents, found that the happiest cities were Miami, FL; Worcester, MA; and Oklahoma City, OK. Incidentally, the average salary in Miami was just under $54,000 -- some $8,000 less than the average salary in New Haven, CT, which ranked as the unhappiest city on the list (the second and third unhappiest were Dayton and Milwaukee). BREAKING: AIRLINE TRAVEL IS A PAIN: A new survey confirms what most travelers already know: modern air travel can be stressful, frustrating and exhausting. Of the survey's 1,000 U.S. respondents, 44 percent called air travel stressful, 41 percent said it was frustrating and 32 percent declared it downright exhausting. Very few people (16 percent) found air travel easy, luxurious (5 percent) or relaxing (7 percent). The reason that the total add up to more than 100 percent is because survey respondents were allowed to choose more than one answer to the question: "Air travel is..." Not surprisingly, the survey found that air travelers are displeased with the modern-day airport security-screening process. Only 22 percent said airport security-screening procedures were effective and only 11 percent said it was efficient. A mere 4 percent found it pleasant while 42 percent found the security checkpoint "a hassle." (MSNBC)
MEN CAN TELL WHEN A WOMAN HAS HER PERIOD BY LISTENING TO HER: New research suggests men can actually tell from a woman's voice when she is menstruating. In a study, published in the journal Ethology, psychologists asked three groups of men to listen to voice recordings of ten women who counted from one to five -- at four different points over their menstrual cycle. All four recordings were played in a random order -- and then the first group of men were asked to guess which were made while the women were on their period. The tests revealed that the men were correct 35 percent of the time -- described as a 'significant' result. Previous tests showed that men subconsciously judge where a woman is in her menstrual cycle -- lap dancers make 80 percent more money in tips when they're ovulating compared to when they're menstruating. 4 REASONS YOU DRINK TOO MUCH (Fox News)
The Media. The more you're exposed to images of alcohol in the media, the more likely you are to drink, reports a study published in the journal Alcohol and Alcoholism. The researchers monitored the alcohol consumption of 80 males (ages 18 to 29) who were exposed to media that either did or did not display images of alcohol with the film (or commercials). The men were broken up into groups and placed in comfortable theatre-like rooms where there were both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available to them. The results found that those who watched commercials or movies where drinking was highly prevalent drank an average of 1.5 bottles (300 ml) more than those who watched similar media where alcohol played a less-prominent role.
The Suffering Economy. Researchers from the University of Miami found that the worse off the economy is, the worse your drinking habits become. Over a span of 4 years, the study surveyed more than 43,000 people -- monitoring drinking behaviors and the state unemployment rates. And after punching the data, the researchers found that every time the state unemployment rate increased by 1 percent, there was a 17 percent increase in cases alcohol abuse.
Your Brain. Although scientists have assumed this for quite some time, the latest research confirms that drinking releases feel-good chemicals in the "pleasure center" of the brain. Researchers from the University of California used PET imaging (which captures the regions of the brain that "light up" in response to alcohol) to monitor the effects of drinking in the brains of 13 heavy drinkers and compare them against images of 12 infrequent drinkers. Although all of the subjects experienced a release of endorphins from the alcohol, those who were heavier drinkers experienced higher levels of endorphins -- which ultimately leads to more alcohol because they received more pleasure from drinking.
The Loud Music. Cranking up the volume at the bar may actually cause people to drink more, reports a study published in Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research. French researchers monitored 40 men over the course of three Saturday evenings, tracking the amount of alcohol they consumed when the music in the bar was played at various volumes. Their results showed that there was a positive correlation between loud music and the amount of time it took for men to empty their glasses. When the music was loud, it took the average guy roughly 12 minutes to finish his drink -- compared to about 15 minutes when the music was being played at a normal level.
GUY THINGS THAT WOMEN SHOULDN'T OVERREACT ABOUT (MadameNoire)
He fails to plan: You've been pestering him to reserve airline tickets, concert tickets or make a doctor's appointment he really needs. And he keeps forgetting. But remember, women are multi-taskers by nature, and that includes our ability to think about multiple things at a time. When a man steps into the work place, for the most part, his brain is on the work track and he barely thinks about another thing until he gets home. And then it's too late: you're already asking him if he made the call and he already forgot. But it's not that he didn't care about what you asked him to do.
He is removed after sex: Keep in mind, that in all likelihood you came before he did, and you've been hanging out for a while since then. So when sex ends, that's because he just came. Think about the few seconds after you just came -- your head is spinning a little bit. You kind of want to bask in the moment and having someone cuddling you or try to move you around in the bed ruins it.
When he doesn't act appreciative: Men don't get as gushy over nice things women do for them. Often, you make a man a meal, he kisses you on the cheek and says "Thanks baby" and sits down to happily eat. And silently. Somehow, men think we know how appreciative they are just by watching them enjoy what we've done for them. Women need more words to feel appreciated, but really should pick up from the smile on his face that he appreciates it.
When he doesn't invite you along: Women are more comfortable talking about most things with their friends or family, when their boyfriend is standing right there. Men, however, compartmentalize who they talk to about what. Sometimes they don't want to bring their girlfriend because they want to get to shoot the sh*t with their friends or family in the way they just don't feel comfortable doing in front of their woman.
When he abandons you at a party: He should definitely check in on you throughout the night and sit next to you if it's a dinner party. But, the two of you have plenty of time together alone. And at a party, you should be socializing with other people. Your boyfriend probably assumes you are able to fend for yourself, and you should be able to. If you are shy, that is not his fault. Let him enjoy himself.
When it seems like his friends don't know about you: You're hanging out with his friends, and when you tell them about a recent promotion at work, or the death of a loved one, they draw blanks. Your man clearly hasn't talked to them much about you. But, in general, women talk to their friends way more about their significant others than men do. It's nothing personal. It's just your man not wanting to annoy his friends by going on and on about his girlfriend.
When he doesn't overreact: You get into a fender bender. You have a cold. Your phone is stolen. And all he wants to know is how and when it can be fixed. But, he doesn't seem to feel for you. Keep in mind that men are fixers. So, they worry more about the solution, than the emotional ramifications of the problem.
White House Slams RNC Head for Comparing Obama to Capsized Italian Cruise Ship Captain
The White House yesterday (January 30th) slammed the chairman of the Republican National Committee for comparing President Obama to the Italian cruise ship captain who allegedly abandoned his ship after it capsized and was sinking on January 13th. Appearing on CBS' Face the Nation on Sunday (January 29th), RNC head Reince Priebus said Obama was, quote, "our own little Captain Schettino," accusing him of abandoning the ship on the country to spend more time on his re-election campaign. White House press secretary Jay Carney said Monday that Priebus' comment shows that Republicans are, quote, "desperate for attention." Priebus also drew criticism from a friendlier quarter, his predecessor as RNC head Michael Steele, who called the analogy "unfortunate." There were at least 16 passengers killed in the Costa Concordia disaster, with another 16 still missing.
Candidate Barred from Ballot Over Poor English Skills Appeals to Arizona Supreme Court
A woman who was barred from running for city council in San Luis, Arizona, because she doesn't speak English proficiently has appealed to the state Supreme Court. Yuma County Superior Court Judge John Nelson ruled last week that Alejandrina Cabrera's name be stricken from the March ballot, after Mayor Juan Carlos Escamilla asked for a court determination of whether Cabrera has the English skills necessary to serve on the council. Nelson's ruling was based on tests given by a sociolinguistics expert, as well as Cabrera's inability to respond to questions she was asked in English at a hearing. Although Arizona law requires elected officials to know English, Cabrera's attorneys claim the statute doesn't define proficiency. Cabrera told the Yuma Sun that although she does need to improve her English, her language skills are adequate for serving in the border city of San Luis, where Spanish is used as often as English.
Kermit and Miss Piggy Fire Back at Fox News After 'Liberal Agenda' Criticism
You don't normally associate Kermit and Miss Piggy with media criticism, but the internationally-famous Muppet duo have fired back at Fox News Channel after it accused their new movie, The Muppets, of having a liberal agenda, because the film's villain is an oil baron who wants to destroy the Muppet studios in order to dig for oil. Dan Gainor of the conservative Media Research Center told Fox Business host Eric Bolling several weeks ago, "It's amazing how far the left will go . . . to manipulate your kids to . . . give them the anti-corporate message." At a press conference late last week in Britain for the movie's U.K. premiere, Kermit was asked by a reporter how he felt about the charge that the film is "dangerous." The lovable green frog answered, "Oh, it's so dangerous! No, it's a funny thing. They were concerned about us having some prejudice against oil companies. And I can tell you that's categorically not true. And, besides, if we have problems with oil companies, why would we have spent the entire film driving around in a gas-guzzling Rolls-Royce?" Miss Piggy added, "It's almost as laughable as accusing Fox News of, you know, being news." Sensing that statement would cause a stir, Kermit said, "Boy, that's going to be all over the Internet."
Miranda Lambert has rescheduled her show on Friday (February 3rd) in Tallahassee, Florida to attend the funeral of her childhood friend, Mark "Tex" Adams. The show at the Leon County Civic Center has been set for Thursday, May 17th. Showtime remains 7:30 pm with opening acts Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young. No other shows are affected.
Adams was killed in a traffic accident in Florida. He pulled to the side of the road to assist a stranded motorist when a vehicle drifted to the shoulder striking both cars and killing Adams. No one else was killed in the crash.
Miranda tweeted the sad news last week, writing, "I have lost a friend I've had since 3rd grade today in a tragic accident. When will this pain end. Please pray for peace."
She later added, "Thanks for the prayers. My friend is Mark Adams. We became friends at 9 years old. He was a great person. He is now in heaven with his dad . . . Please call your friends, especially the ones you haven't talked to In a while or maybe are not on great terms with and tell em u love em. It's so hurtful when it's too late to do that."
Miranda is still grieving the loss of her father-in-law, Dick Shelton, who died earlier this month.
Dierks Bentley works hard, but he also plays hard. We know he loves playing hockey and riding motorcyles, but he's added one more dangerous hobby -- piloting airplanes! Dierks tells us it's taken him a while, but now he's a full-fledged pilot with a penchant for taking to the skies. "It's something I started off doing like fifteen years ago but it was expensive and time consuming. It took me like 3 years to get my pilot's license, although I soloed after like 7 hours. I really did enjoy it. It just took a while to get the license. But then the last fifteen years I've had to focus really on music. But I had about a month off between last year's tour and recording and getting ready to go back out again, and I just really got into it and spent the last of my little time off just letting a different part of my brain get used, you know?"
Dierks has even started flying himself to shows. "It's really fun having a little mission to fly to a gig and I'm the kind of person who really likes driving. I like being in the driver's seat. I can be on a big airplane and still be nervous. I don't like being in the back not knowing what's going on. I just like being -- I guess it's a control thing. It's been really fun. It's a great feeling up there and it's a really cool thing being able to do every now and then."
Dierks will release his new album, Home, on February 7th.
It includes his latest Top 10 hit and title cut, "Home."
He played at Super Bowl Village in Indianapolis last night (Sunday, January 29th).
On Thursday (February 2nd), Dierks debuts his new music during a show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green are taking their friendship as mentors on The Voice into the recording studio. True story." Cee Lo offers further credibility by saying, "Yeah, I have a song I'm trying to get Blake on right now as we speak. I'm supposed to go into the studio sometime soon."
The new season of The Voice kicks off on February 5th immediately following the Super Bowl.

Chris Young is out on the road with Miranda Lambert this winter, and while those things are usually arranged through booking agents and managers, Chris got a personal invitation from Miranda. He tells us: "Actually, it was her. It wasn't a phone call. We were doin' a show somewhere, and she was like, 'You're gonna go out with me on my tour next year, right?' I'm like, 'Uhhhh, sure! Like, really?' 'Cause we have the same manager, and so my manager was standin' there, she goes, 'She's asking you.' I'm like, 'Uhh, yeah!' So, that was the first time I've ever had someone ask me in person. That was the first time that had happened."
The On Fire tour plays in Huntsville, Alabama on Thurday (February 2nd) along with Jerrod Niemann.
Chris will join Brad Paisley to play Chicago's Wrigley Field on June 9th for a show that will feature Miranda, Jerrod, and The Band Perry. This will be only the second time in Wrigley history that the home of the Chicago Cubs has ever hosted a live country concert.
Chris' current hit, "You," sits at Number Two on the country charts.
His last four consecutive singles have all gone to Number One.

FRIEND SAYS DEMI MOORE IS 'DOING GREAT'; 911 CALL RELEASED
Demi Moore is reportedly doing well in the wake of her hospitalization. Less than a week after suffering seizure-like symptoms, director Patty Jenkins told E!, "I just saw her and she's doing great. I think she's doing much better than it's made out to be."
Moore was rushed to the hospital last Monday night after smoking an unidentified substance and reportedly inhaling nitrous oxide from whip-its.
Jenkins added, "Demi is awesome and so strong. I also hate when people make it a bigger drama than what is going on. She's great."
911 CALL RELEASED
The 911 call that sent Demi to the hospital was released on Friday, but TMZ claims that dialogue relating to the whip-its was edited out.
The L.A. City Attorney reportedly felt it would be an invasion of privacy if that information was released, so those references, as well as the mention of other drugs, were cut out.
A caller on the tape admits that Demi "smoked something," but says the substance was not marijuana -- describing it as "like incense."

In recent interviews, Brad has hinted that a wedding could be in the near future, telling reporters that their kids want mom and dad to tie the knot.
REPUBLICANS BATTLE FOR FLORIDA: The Florida Republican presidential primary is tomorrow (Tuesday), and leading challengers Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich are duking it out to the very last minute. The most recent polls show former Massachusetts governor Romney in the lead. But Gingrich, former speaker of the House of Representatives, is stepping up his attacks on the frontrunner as a "pro-abortion, pro-gun control, pro-tax increase moderate from Massachusetts."
A Miami Herald poll published Sunday gives Romney an 11-point advantage over Gingrich in the state.
Gingrich says the votes of conservatives and Tea Party activists are split between him and third-place challenger Rick Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator. But Santorum says he won't quit.
On Sunday, Santorum, the father of 7, was off the campaign trail to be with his daughter Bella, age 3, who is hospitalized in Philadelphia. His eldest daughter stood in for him at a Sarasota campaign event.
Over the weekend, pizza mogul Herman Cain, who was briefly the frontrunner for the Republican candidacy, endorsed Gingrich.

The defendants were sentenced to life in prison following the verdict Sunday.

They tied their Lego-man to a home-made parachute and shot him 80,000 feet into the air for a 97-minute space journey. They attached cameras to record the space journey, plus a GPS tracking device so they could rescue the little guy after he landed. Their Lego-lad ventured into the upper atmosphere for a distance about twice the cruising altitude of a commercial jet.

Lupine Hills Elementary reportedly accused the boy of brushing his best friend's leg or groin while playing tag on the playground. The father said the principal's office at Lupine held his child until they got a confession. The boy was suspended and a sexual battery charge was added to his permanent record. Once the parents got a lawyer, the school reportedly backed down and removed the assault claim from the child's record. Another parent whose child attends Lupine, said, "To me, I think it's an overreaction." The child's parents have moved him to another school. (CBS San Francisco)
DOUBLE DATING MAKES INDIVIDUAL RELATIONSHIPS STRONGER: Double dating is good for your relationship. New research found that relationships of people who spent time going out with other couples tended to last much longer. Not only did it increase their attraction for each other but it also appeared to increase their understanding of the opposite sex. Psychologists say having a 'mirror couple' to socialize with allows us to learn from the ways other couples interact and negotiate differences. The social interaction also allowed each individual to see their partners 'at their best', interacting in a warm and positive way with others. (Daily Mail)
CONSTIPATION CAUSES BED-WETTING? Bed-wetting might not be a bladder issue -- apparently it could be linked to constipation. The study, published in the journal Urology, found the 30 children and adolescents who sought treatment for bed-wetting "all had large amounts of stool in their rectums, despite the majority having normal bowel habits." After treatment with laxative therapy, 83 percent of the study participants were cured of bed-wetting within three months. (UPI)
ANKLES ARE MOST SATISFYING SCRATCHING SPOT: A new study proves that ankes are the most satisfying body part to have scratched. In the study, healthy volunteers were made to itch on the forearm, ankle and back. For five minutes they were banned from scratching, and asked to record how itchy they felt at each spot. After scratching participants awarded marks out of ten for how pleasurable the sensation had been. Professor Francis McGlone, a member of the International Forum for the Study of Itch, said: 'It was interesting that the ankle was the itchiest site and that the most pleasure came from scratching it, because the back has been well-known as a preferred site for scratching.' Scientists believe the ankle has evolved as an itch-prone area because it comes into contact with insects and germs, which can be removed through scratching. (Gizmodo)
HOW BIG IS FACEBOOK? Cartridgesave attempted to figure out just how big Facebook really is. While the company doesn't list an official statistic for how many updates are posted a day, a survey by the company found that 62 percent of users post at least once per day, and that more than half of these were at least two lines long. If that were accurate for the site's 800 million users, there would be an average 292 billion posts per year. Facebook has said that 250 million photos are traded every day via the site, and that 50 percent of Facebook users log in every day. (Daily Mail)
8 SIGNS YOU SHOULD TAKE A BREAK FROM YOUR RELATIONSHIP (TheStir.com)
1. You don't talk anymore. Do you spend time talking -- really talking -- with your partner, or do you resort to talking about the weather (or other trivial stuff) only? When you've stopped really communicating, it's time to take a break.
2. You don't spend time together. Movie night has been replaced with "guys' night." Dates are a thing of the past. Trying to pin your partner to even hang out together is like nailing Jello to the wall. If your partner does not want to spend time with you (or the reverse), it's time to take a break.
3. You fight all the time. Sure, some amount of fighting is normal in relationships. Relationships (no matter WHAT others say) are hard work. But if fighting becomes the only interaction you two have, it's time to take a break.
4. You don't have sex. Sex is a very important part of any relationship. It helps bond you to your partner, and provides a sense of intimacy. No sex = a problem. It's time to have a (gentle) conversation about it or take a break.
5. You sleep in separate bedrooms. Very few couples can survive living in separate bedrooms for very long. It's not healthy, and very little good can come of it.
6. Your relationship has more bad than good. Yes, relationships are hard. Yes, they all have unique challenges. But when you can estimate that your relationship has more bad than good, it's time to take a break and reassess how the relationship is really working for you.
7. You think about breaking up -- a lot. Once you start thinking about life without your partner often, and it doesn't make you weep, it's time to reevaluate why you two are together in the first place.
8. You're not happy. Your partner isn't happy. Happiness, my friends, is worth a lot. If your relationship doesn't make you happy and fulfilled, it's time to take a break.

It seems that the fashion police are really tough on people who want to work at Disney theme parks. According to website The Daily Beast, the company dress code has been updated after 55 years to allow beards. But the code still calls for a clean, classic and conservative look: no visible tattoos; no extreme hair colors or styles; no pierced noses, shaved eyebrows or flashy manicures.
Etiquette expert Anna Post and the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases are teaming up on an issue that concerns them both: people who show up for work even when they have the flu. Flu germs are highly contagious, the health agency says. And just as importantly, the etiquette expert says, it is very rude to sneeze in someone else's face.
Keith Urban successfully completed three weeks of doctor-ordered voice rest after his vocal cord surgery late last year, but he admits it wasn't easy. Keith tells us he learned a lot about non-verbal communication, to the point of nearly injuring himself. "Being silent with somebody is difficult. You almost have to over-exaggerate facial expressions to let them know that you're in a good mood. I nodded a lot. Just to nod lightly is not enough. You have to be effusive because when you talk and someone's saying something and you agree you're like, 'Yeah, absolutely!!' I would have to be like nodding really vigorously. After two weeks, I was in the shower and I was like, 'My neck is so sore!' That's why. I'm a lot in agreeance (laughs).
Keith says it was especially hard for his daughters to understand Daddy's silence. "Our daughter's three-and-a-half. We have a one-year-old, but Sunny's three-and-a-half so she's not, she can't read yet, so it's easy for me to write for everybody else but I couldn't write for her, so that was hard, but what I did before I went on vocal rest, I have a cassette deck, an actual, real cassette deck and I recorded several books onto this cassette tape and I would take that up and read to her at night by pressing the play button and then just turning the pages and looking, and she would hit the stop button and go, 'I want you to read it!' I couldn't explain, you know . . . (laughs), but I did a whole bunch of those kind of things to help me through that three weeks."
Keith tested his singing abilities earlier this week with a live performance of "Long Hot Summer" during the Number One party for the song in Nashville.
His first official post-surgery public performance will happen on February 3rd at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House.
Keith co-wrote a song for the upcoming feature film, Act of Valor.
He'll host his third annual All For The Hall fundraiser concert at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on April 10th.
Eric Church is a fan of the video for his hit "Homeboy," which was just nominated for Video of the Year by the Academy of Country Music Awards. Eric tells us he could easily relate to the kid in the clip: "And seeing the story line develop, and being in the place, I mean I've been there, I was feeling the stuff the kid was feeling, that despair. I think we have all been in places like that. It just came across great. I love the lighting. I love the angles. I love the slow motion. The slow motion is one of the coolest things. There's a scene with a match where he lights a match and throws it at the camera, and you can see the match extinguish itself, in super, super, super slow motion. I love that shot."
Eric is also up for Album of the Year for Chief.
The ACM Awards will take place in Las Vegas on April 1st. The show will air live on CBS.
Eric is out on his first headlining Blood, Sweat & Beers tour with special guest Brantley Gilbert.

Dierks Bentley's current hit, "Home," has been nominated for Song of the Year by theAcademy of Country Music Awards. In addition to being trophy-worthy, Dierks tells us he hopes the song brings people together. "The song is written in a way that is open-ended as far as how people, what they want to walk away with. I mean I think it's obvious that it's a song about our country and about the ups and downs and the scars we have in our past, but at the end of the day, no matter what side of the fence you're on, where you stand on certain issues, or where you come from, your background, we all live here. You have to walk through the front door of your house every day. This is our house. This is our home. This is our country. You know, I hope in some sense that it brings people together, and finds a bit more in common than we don't. I hope people feel inspired and come together."
