New Artist of the Year award. Tyler is thrilled with the nomination,
even though at this point it pits him against his good buddy, Lee Brice
Tyler tells us: “You
know, to be nominated for anything is always huge, a new artist of the
year, I got some tough competition I’ll tell ya that, ’cause there’s a
lot of my buddies in that category, which makes it…you know, Lee Brice
is in the category
(laughs), and we have the same
manager. I’m like, ‘Now how does this work? Explain to me how this
works. Lee, you just get out of my category, and I’ll vote for you for
Song of the Year.’”
Lee is nominated for Song and Single of the Year for "I Drive Your Truck."
The ACM will announce the final three nominees in the New Artist category in the coming weeks.

will be held on April 6th in Las Vegas. The show will be broadcast live on CBS.

BRANDI GLANVILLE SAYS IT TAKES A STRONG MAN TO DATE HER: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Brandi Glanville admits
she is a lot for a man to handle and needs a guy strong enough to take
on the job. The reality star is prepping the release of her second
memoir, Drinking and Dating, and recently chatted about her dating woes with People
saying, "I've met some great men, I've met a lot of not-so-great ones.
I'm learning as I go. I made rules for myself that I've broken. After my
divorce, I said, 'No actors and no professional athletes,' and of
course I went right back to it. I'm always attracted to the hottest boy
in the room and that never works out." She added, "In this town, being
over 40 with two kids, that's a scary thing to say. It takes a really
strong man to put up with me, my baggage and the show. It's hard for me
to take the leap of trust. I'm a little bit tough because I can't afford
to get my heart broken. When I do bring someone to meet my sons, it's
going to be for good."
TOM SIZEMORE APOLOGIZES FOR MAKING UP ELIZABETH HURLEY'S AFFAIR WITH PRESIDENT CLINTON: Actor Tom Sizemore has admitted that the audio recording of him discussing an affair between Elizabeth Hurley and President Bill Clinton was totally made up and called them "the rantings of a guy that...had a very severe drug problem." The 52-year-old spoke with HuffPost Live
where he revealed, "It's not true. I was never at the White House. I've
never met Bill Clinton. I'm not denying that I said these things. I
don't remember saying them, but it's an old video tape and they're the
rantings of a guy...that had a very severe drug problem. Although I said
it, none of it is true. I'd like to apologize to her for any hurt or
B.S. I caused her or the Clintons or anybody else I may have mentioned."
Tom went on to say, "I was like a drunk saying that I was going to be
on the Challenger next week...My perceptions were not the greatest."
JIMMY KIMMEL CONGRATULATES JAY LENO: Jimmy Kimmel set aside his personal issues with Jay Leno to congratulate him as he prepared to tape his final episode of The Tonight Show
on Thursday (February 6th.) The comedian tweeted, "Issues aside, 20
years at #1 is a remarkable achievement. Congratulations and best wishes
to @jayleno on an incredible run." Kimmel was vocal about his annoyance
over how things played out back in 2010 when NBC put Leno back on the
air and got rid of Conan O'Brien. He even devoted an
entire episode of his show to doing an impression his rival saying,
"Hello! My name is Jay Leno. You might have known, I'm taking over all
of the shows in late night. Even this one. Great to be here on ABC. You
know what ABC stands for? Always Bump Conan. That's right. Anyway, Conan
O'Brien today announced he's leaving NBC. He released a statement that

Fortunately, though, I will."

#nofilter Q&A session on Wednesday (February 5th) where he touched
on topics like friendship and love. When asked if a good friend is hard
to come by, Rob responded, "Not at all if you just surround yourself
with good people who are loyal to you since day one. I mean I have only a
couple friends but I’ve known them since, like, you know, fourth grade
or something. I’ve never changed anything about my little group of
friends. I think if you're just smart and you have the friends who care
about you most, that’s really all that matters." He was later asked what
he is most afraid of to which he replied, "Probably picking a proper
wife and not just rushing something. Actually, I'm probably not afraid
of that because I probably just won't get married. But probably like
finding the right one, because I don't really believe in divorce, so
just finding the right girl."

AMC, and we're thrilled to begin working with the creative team behind

EMMA WATSON HAS SOCIAL ANXIETY
hasn't fallen into the Hollywood party scene because she tends to get
anxious in party atmospheres. The actress guest edited a section of Wonderland magazine's February issue where she opens up to writer Derek Blasberg about being socially awkward.
explains, "I feel like I've been given a lot of credit where it isn't
due that I don't like to party. The truth is that I'm genuinely a shy,
socially awkward, introverted person. At a big party, I'm like Bambie in
the headlights. It's too much stimulation for me, which is why I end up
going to the bathroom! I need time outs! You've seen me at parties,
Derek. I get anxious. I'm terrible at small talk and I have a
ridiculously short attention span." The 23-year-old adds, "I feel a
pressure when I'm meeting new people because I'm aware of their
expectations. That makes socializing difficult. Which isn't to say that
when I'm in a small group and around my friends, I don't love to dance
and be extroverted. I am just extremely self-conscious in public."

how she works hard to keep her female friendships in the March issue of Ladies' Home Journal.
The 42-year-old tells that magazine, "Most of the women in your life will outlast the men in your life. The SNL ladies -- Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Tina Fey
-- and I text pictures of our kids back and forth all the time. It
keeps us connected. As my nanny used to say, the older you get, the more
important it is to know people that knew you when."

reveals her strategy for balancing her friends with her family, work,
and health saying, "I picture a refrigerator and on the refrigerator are
six magnets. Each magnet says things like: relationship, kids, health,
work, money, fun with friends -- whatever. Every day you can really only
put three magnets on the refrigerator. You're not going to be able to
use all of them. Like today is about my work, my children and my health.
Then the week goes by and you're like, 'I haven't used my 'fun with
friends' magnet in weeks!' So I try to approach it that way."

'AMERICAN IDOL' HOLLYWOOD WEEK CONTINUES
Last night (February 6th) on American Idol, Hollywood week continued with the groups round.
The show began with the trio Three More Days featuring David Oliver Willis, Sarina Joi Crowe, and Tony Foster Jr performing Alex Clare's
"Too Close". Tony was the only singer of this group who was eliminated.
"This is where it gets really hard. Today we are going to cut half of
you at least." said judge Jennifer Lopez. The Backstreet Cowboys composed of Ben Briley, Dexter Roberts, and Casey Thrasher performed the Backstreet Boys
"I Want It That Way". "I love seeing three southern guys doing a song
that has really nothing to do with what they do musically and making it
work." said judge Keith Urban. Each of the members advanced to the next round.
Alyssa Siebken, Spencer Lloyd and Megan Miller joined
together to perform "Best I Ever Had". During the performance it
seemed Miller screwed up on some of the words. Alyssa commented that "it
sounded even worse before". "That's almost impossible to
believe" replied judge Harry Connick Jr. The judges decided Spencer and Megan would move forward, and Alyssa was eliminated.
After the cuts only 77 contestants remain.
BOEHNER: IMMIGRATION REFORM UNLIKELY THIS YEAR: House Speaker John Boehner
explained yesterday (February 6th) that immigration reform is unlikely
to happen before the midterm elections in November. The Ohio Republican
blamed the situation on what he claimed is widespread skepticism that President Obama
would properly enforce any immigration legislation that Congress
passed. However, Republicans have been wary of acting on the issue
because it could anger conservative voters ahead of the election. The
pessimistic words from Boehner came just one week after he and other
House Republican leaders had unveiled broad principles for immigration
reform, including legal status -- but not a path to citizenship -- for
the estimated 11 million immigrants living here illegally.
U.S. DIPLOMATS HEARD DISPARAGING E.U. IN APPARENTLY BUGGED CALL:
Two senior American diplomats discussing the unrest in the Ukraine were
heard disparaging the European Union in a phone call that was
apparently bugged, with audio posted online on Tuesday (February 4th).
The White House and State Department yesterday (February 6th) stopped
just short of directly accusing Russia of bugging the call between the
top U.S. diplomat for Europe, Victoria Nuland, and the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt.
But both pointed out that a Russian government official was the first
or among the first to call attention to the audio on YouTube. The State
Department said the incident marked a, quote, "new low in Russian
tradecraft." In the audio, Nuland and Pyatt discuss international
efforts to resolve Ukraine's ongoing political crisis, and at one point,
Nuland suggests the EU's position should be ignored, saying, "F*** the
EU." Nuland has apologized to European Union officials for her remarks.

GUIDELINES ISSUES FOR PREVENTING STROKES IN WOMEN: The
American Heart Association issued its first guidelines Thursday
(February 6th) for preventing strokes in women, who are more likely to
suffer them over their lifetimes than men. The key to surviving a stroke
and limiting disability is getting help fast, and recognizing symptoms
such as trouble speaking, weakness or numbness in one arm, or drooping
on one side of the face. Certain stroke risks are more common in women,
including migraine with aura, obesity, an irregular heartbeat called
atrial fibrillation, and metabolic syndrome, a combination of problems
including blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar. General
guidelines for stroke prevention focus on controlling blood pressure and
diabetes, quitting smoking, and exercise and healthy diet. Some of the
ones specifically for women include: getting checked for high blood
pressure before starting on birth control pills; watching for stroke in
women who developed high blood pressure during pregnancy; and being
aware of elevated risk from hormone treatment around menopause.

STOLEN VIOLIN WORTH $5 MILLION RECOVERED: Milwaukee
police yesterday (February 6th) recovered a stolen Stradivarius violin
built in 1715 that's worth $5 million after it was stolen late last
month. The violin was found in good condition, hidden in a suitcase in
the attic of a man who police said was unaware the instrument was in his
home. Three people were arrested in the heist, which police blamed at
least in part on Salah Jones, an art thief who once stole a statue from a
gallery and then tried to sell it back. The instrument was stolen from a
concert violinist who was shocked with a stun gun before the attacker
grabbed the violin and sped away in a waiting vehicle. It's not clear
what the suspects planned to do with the violin, which would have been
almost impossible to sell.

GIANT SNOT JELLYFISH WASHES UP ASHORE: A
giant "snot" jellyfish washed ashore in Australia baffling scientists,
who believe it, could be a new species. The existence of the 4-foot
11-inch creature has long been rumored for more than a decade before it
was discovered by a family near Hobart, Tasmania. Scientists from CSIRO
(Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization) say the
blob could be a type of lion's mane or "snot" jellyfish, but have never
seen one so big before. (Metro)

STUDY FINDS MEN WANT SEX FOR VALENTINE'S DAY:
Save your cash, men really just want sex for Valentine's Day. New
research confirms the obvious by surveying more than one-thousand adults
about the holiday. The results reveal that just 20-percent of men say
they love Valentine's Day, but that 59-percent expect to have
even-better-than-normal sex on the most romantic holiday. Not
shockingly, 46-percent of men put "sex" at the top of their Valentine's
Day wish lists, with a thoughtful card coming in second place with
seven-percent of men wanting one. (Women's Health)

MOST PEOPLE FIND PICKY EATING A TURN-OFF:
If you're heading out on a first date this Valentine's Day you may want
to skip ordering the chicken fingers and fries. A recent survey from
Match.com reveals that 95-percent of respondents say they're turned off
when their date is a picky eater. Another recent survey revealed that
51-percent of singles said that taking a smoke break on a first date was
a deal breaker, ranking it worse than checking your phone or being
late. (Women's Health)
CURVED PHONES ARE NO GIMMICK:
The next big hardware shift is on the horizon for our cell phones-- a
curved shape. So far Samsung's Galaxy Round bends in from the sides and
LG's G Flex bows inward form the top and bottom. Apple has even filed
patent for a curved battery, which obviously is a critical component for
a curved phone. An analyst who specializes in screens says a concave
screen subtly magnifies a user's face, which helps block light pollution
and reduces glare. This means the screen is easier to read and users
won't need to crank up their screen lights and drain their battery,
Experts also say curved screens are the first step towards creating a
fully flexible display, and virtually unbreakable screens that roll up
as easily as newspapers and magazines. (Pop Sci)
SUBWAY REMOVING CHEMICAL FOUND IN YOGA MATS FROM ITS BREAD:
Subway is a fast food giant, and they've announced a positive change
for their bread. The chain restaurant says it plans to remove the
controversial chemical Azodiacarbonamide, which is also used in the
making of yoga mats, from its bread products. A statement from the
company says, "We are already in the process of removing
Azodiacarbonamide as part of our bread improvement efforts despite the
fact that it is USDA and FDA-approved ingredient. The complete
conversion to have this product out of the bread will be done soon." The
announcement comes at the same time as an online petition against the
chemical was launched by a food activist who says, "It's banned all over
the globe, because it's linked to respiratory issues, allergies and
asthma. This is not 'eating fresh!'" the activist says she commends
Subway for finally responding to her, and urges people to stay away from
the sandwich bread until the switch is complete. (Fox)
THE CONNECTION BETWEEN WEIGHT MANAGEMENT AND MONEY MANAGEMENT:
Is there a connection between how you manage your money and how you
manage your weight? New research says yes. To find this, economists
compared the weight and financial status of young men and women in an
attemtp to figure out if financial hardship causes obesity or vice
versa. Researchers found that women who had trouble keeping up with
household bills were more likely to be obese than men in the same
position. Researchers say this may happens because men may be more
likely to be doing physical, calorie-burning work than women.
Additionally, an expert says, "Young men under age 28 are much less
likely to be raising children alone, while women are. And women tend to
gain weight when they have children. Single mothers also have an
especially difficult time managing financially, and may tend to rely too
much on high-calorie foods...and eat to relieve stress." Researchers
hope their discovery can aid the national battle against obesity as it
shows weight management may not just be able diet and exercise, but
about broader lifestyle issues as well. (Time)
THE NORTH STAR IS GETTING BRIGHTER:
Notice anything different in the northern skies? Scientists say
Polaris, or the North Star, is actually getting brighter. Experts say
the star is expanding at more than 100-times the rate they expected and
they don't know why. To find this, researchers recalibrated historic
measurements of Polaris and say the North Star is 2.5-times brighter
than it was in the year 137 C.E., which they say is a remarkable rate of
change. One researcher says, "If they are real, these changes are 100
times larger than predicted by current theories of stellar evolution." (Daily Mail)

If Valentine's Day is more about revenge for you than love, a store in

KFLAG COUNTRY MUSIC UPDATE
is breaking through with his very first hit single, "Helluva Life." The
song is a Top 10 hit and climbing, a feat that Frankie hoped -- and
believed -- would happen when he released his debut single back in 2010.
The song was called "Tell Me You Get Lonely," and it peaked on the
charts in the 30's.
Frankie says he's learned some hard
lessons about the music business, which is why "Helluva Life" is so
personally relatable to him. He tells us: "The song is very parallel with my career in that I thought my first single was gonna come out, which was a few years ago, and
up to the top and we'd be off to the races and here we go! Well, that
didn't happen, and it didn't happen with the second single either, and
that was a tough time for me cause you're very exposed when you're
putting music out. It's almost like a 'what do you think of me' thing
and people will be very honest about things and if it doesn't work
you're left feeling insufficient in some ways, and so I had a tough time
with it, but that whole experience had a lot of positives, too. It made
me a lot more mature. I won a lot of fans at radio, at country radio,
so the chorus of 'Helluva Life' says 'bad times make the good times
better' and that's very true for me and my career."
Frankie is teaming up with Spotify to give fans an advance listen of his new album, Sunshine & Whiskey
which will officially be released on Tuesday (February 11th). Beginning
this week, the entire album is exclusively available to stream on
Spotify. This special sneak peek also includes three bonus tracks; live
acoustic versions of “Helluva Life,” the title track and a song called

they will obviously love it, but also I hope they walk away with just
knowing that I’m influenced by so many different kinds of things, and I
hope they just connect in some way. I mean, if I can make somebody feel

my favorite part -- just being inspired by something I went through and
seeing other people say, ‘I get it, like I went through that, too.’”

The romance between Charlize Theron and Sean Penn that seemed to start around the holidays may be heading toward marriage. According to Radar Online, both actors have fallen hard and fast for each other and they are in talks to take the next step.
insider revealed, "Sean is head over heels in love with Charlize, and
her son Jackson. He is a totally different person around Charlize, she
brings out the gentle and fun side that not many people have seen of
Sean. To see this previously surly grown man, romping around Charlize's
backyard with Jackson, with a smile on his face would amaze Sean's
detractors. Charlize is getting Sean to not take himself too seriously."
The source added, "The two began talking about marriage in the last few
weeks, after Sean moved into Charlize's house. She has never wanted to
get married, but seeing how Sean interacts with Jackson, she is having a
change of heart. For the longest time, Charlize thought it was just

talking about getting married is a huge departure for Charlize."

'AMERICAN IDOL' KICKS OFF HOLLYWOOD WEEK
Last night (February 5th) on American Idol, season 13's Hollywood week began with 212 hopefuls arriving at the Los Angeles International Airport.
The show began with Ryan Seacrest revealing
the contestants will be going straight from the airport to a secret
hangar. The judges said they will be selecting some contestants who will
have to perform for survival. 17-year-old Johnny Newcomb was the first selected and performed Foster the People's "Pumped
Up Kicks" with his guitar. After the selected singers performed, the
judges split them into two groups, and both were sent to different
buses. One bus heading to the hotel and the other back to the airport
for a flight home.
After the cuts at the hangar, the remaining contestants performed at the Dolby theater in Hollywood. Pre-school teacher Majesty York performed "1,2,3,4" with her guitar. The judges seemed to enjoy her performance and she advanced to the next round. 19-year-old Spencer Lloyd performed "Say Something" while playing the piano. He also advanced. Munfarid Zaidi performed an interesting rendition of "Proud Mary". He moved forward in the competition. 21-year-old student Savion Wright performed an original song dedicated to his brother, he advanced to the Groups round.
160 contestants sang, but only 104 remained after the cuts.
U.N. ISSUES SCATHING REPORT TO VATICAN: Pope Francis has
come under new pressure to punish bishops who covered up for priests
who sexually abused children worldwide for decades after a U.N. human
rights panel issued a scathing report Wednesday (February 5th) that
accused the Vatican of protecting its reputation instead of children.
The U.N. Committee on the Rights of the Child called for the Vatican to
remove all priests known or suspected to be child molesters, open its
archives on abusers and the bishops who covered up for them, and turn
the abuse cases over to law enforcement. A stunned Vatican said the
committee ignored the measures they've already taken to protect
children. The report also spoke on other issues, making recommendations
that conflict with church teachings, urging: that girls be allowed to
have abortions in come circumstances, such as to protect their lives;
that sex education, including information about contraception, be
mandatory in Catholic schools; and that the Vatican condemn
discrimination against gay children or children raised by gay couples.

beneficiary of his insurance policies and took over his Social Security

public in November, investors were focused on the slow growth numbers
and a big drop in timeline views, a measure of user engagement.
